Employment Law
GMFM is dedicated to helping people throughout North Carolina fight workplace discrimination, harassment, retaliation, hostile work environment, and wrongful termination. We represent employees. We do not defend employers who engage in wrongful conduct.
Federal and North Carolina laws protect employees from unlawful acts by their employers. Employees are protected from discrimination based on race, sex, pregnancy, religion, national origin, age, or disability; sexual harassment; wrongful termination; and retaliation. An employee with a successful claim can recover reasonable compensation for economic losses and may be able to recover other types of monetary damages. In addition to discrimination, harassment, and wrongful termination claims, our employment law attorneys frequently evaluate and handle employment contracts and disputes, including severance agreements, non-compete agreements, confidentiality agreements, and breach of contract claims. We also represent clients in cases involving violations of whistleblower laws, wage and hour laws, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and various other employment laws. Our attorneys advocate to protect the rights of our clients.
Employment law is a broad, complicated, and ever-changing field covering many aspects of employment. The attorneys of GMFM have extensive experience and a record of success in handling a variety of employment law issues.
